Jiang MingYuan let go of her after the kiss.

“When did you get here?”

“Last night,” said Cheng Huan.

His hand that was resting on her waist tightened a little but relaxed again before it hurt. The man sighed silently, “Sorry to make you worry about me.”

“I’m glad that you are alright,” said Cheng Huan as she shook her head.

He put his cheek on her as though they were trying to warm each other up. “Don’t come to such a dangerous place next time.”

“C’mon in.”

The door was not locked and opened up as soon as she twisted the door knob. Cheng Huan felt that her heart was about to leap out of her throat during the fleeting moment of the door being opened.

There were quite a few people inside the office. Cheng Huan looked around and immediately saw the man in the middle.

The man looked disheveled. His signature suit had dirt over it and his pants were met and stuck onto him. His tie was loosened and his hair was wet.

Even so, he was sitting upright and his authoritative aura remained. Just one look and Cheng Huan’s tears that she had fought to keep at bay so many times finally rolled down her cheeks.

Lunch was a sort of meat pie very common locally. It was a bit on the sweet and hard side but smelled very good.

Most children enjoyed sweet food and XingXing did alright with the meat pie. She didn’t need to coax him too much for him to eat it.

Cheng Huan ate a little as well. After lunch, she pulled out a couple of toys for XingXing from her purse.

They left in a hurry. All they have with them was one set of change of clothes for each of them. Cheng Huan didn’t want to let XingXing out of the hotel but she couldn’t have him just sat there and do nothing all day long either. She specifically picked up a couple of toys on her way back.

Cheng Huan wasn’t surprised what happened to Jiang MingYuan in Country I was mentioned in the news.

As the person in charge of a company whose market value was over a trillion yuan, Jiang MingYuan was quite well known domestically. His trip to Country I was not a secret and, along with a disaster that was receiving global concerns, it was only normal that he was brought up.

She did not read the news article in details. She could foresee that there was nothing much that she could contribute, not even when she was there in person. All she could do was wait quietly for a shred of hope.
