Tong Xuelu was already taken to the Political Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security by now.

Tis was the headquarter of the Ministry of Public Security. With the abruptness of the event, Pu Jianyi, who was stationed at City Nan Police Station would have no way of finding out about this. Nor would he be able to do anything about it even if he had found out.

Tong Xuelu was taken into an interrogation room. The room had only a door and not even a window.

There was a table inside the room and chairs on both sides of the table.

Tong Xuelu was instructed to sit on the chair after she was shown inside.

The man who brought her in turned and left right away but two others were there to watch over her.

Tong Xuelu finally had a chance to think about what could have happened.

She had an idea. Most likely, this was the handy work of Tong Zhenzhen and Yan Yongan. She did not, however, knew what exactly they had done.

She worried that they would have gone from her grandfather or Wen Rugui’s angle. But she quickly ruled out the angle of her grandfather.

Had something happened to Commander Xiao, the men earlier would not had been so polite to her. Nor would they let her stay here alone.

Wen Rugui, on the other hand, was a possibility. Tong Zhenzhen had, after all, mentioned Wen Rugui a little while ago.

While her thoughts were racing, the metal door opened again and two men in Chinese long tunic walked inside.

The man in front was in his 40s ~ 50s. He was tall with a board face and an garlic-shaped nose. His eyes were sharp.

The man behind him was about the same age as him. He was skinny and his face pale and long. His eyelashes fell below his eyes and looked very kind.

Behind them was another young man. He was holding a notebook and pen in his hands and looked like an administrator who handled the paperwork.

The two men sat down on the chairs across from Tong Xuelu and the solemn-looking man introduced himself. “I am Wu Zhou, a captain at the Political Security Bureau and this is Political Commissar Wang Yihe.”

Tong Xuelu said nonchalantly, “Hi.”

Wu Zhou was quite impressed with how calm she was. “Comrade Tong, we had invited you here to assist us in an investigation.”

Tong Xuelu said seriously, “I will certain give you my full cooperation!”

Wu Zhou was very pleased with her attitude. “Do you know Comrade Su Yueshen and Comrade Gu Yilan, Comrade Tong?”

Tong Xuelu’s heart dropped. She hadn’t expected that something bad had happened to the Su’s.

She nodded, “I do. I’ve saved a little boy from a group of kidnappers September of last year and it was later on found out that he was the son of Comrade Su Yueshen and Comrade Gu Yilan.”

Wu Zhou continued with his questioning, “When was the last time you saw the two of them?”

Tong Xuelu thought about it some and said, “About two weeks ago. It was…. May 25. It was a Sunday and I visited them with my little sister. We had remained contact with them since I had saved their son.”

The administrator recorded everything that she said.

Wu Zhou nodded. “Did something unordinary happened during this time?”

With that sad, Tong Xuelu knew that they had already finished with their investigation. She just might be labeled as an accessory if she tried to hide any details.

So she recounted what happened on that day in a very political way. All but the part about Yan Yongan, of course.

She had no idea whether Su Yueshen would have mentioned Yan Yongan. She hoped to God that he didn’t. She would be in a lot of trouble otherwise.

Luckily, she wasn’t too unlucky and that Su Yueshen wasn’t a fool.

Wu Zhou did not show too much emotions after he listened to her side of the story. “So, what you are saying was, Comrade Gu Yilan got into a fight with Comrade Su Yueshen because she suspected an affair between you and her husband?”

Tong Xuelu corrected him, “That was a misunderstanding and I had no idea what gave Comrade Gu that idea. In the 6 months that I have known Comrade Su, we’ve seen other less than 5 times.

“In addition, I got engaged in May and we are very in love. We are as faithful to each other as we are to the country. I swear that that is absolutley nothing going on between Comrade Su and I!”
