Chapter 499- She must be under a watchful eye. (3)

Wang Yihe suddenly interjected, “According to Gu Yilan, however, she got into a fight with Su Yueshen because of you. And she was forced to severe her ties with Comrade Tong Zhenzhen because of you. I would like to know why you went over to their place specifically to have Su Yueshen stop her from seeing Tong Zhenzhen.”

Tong Xuelu did not let anything show but she was cussing inside. “That is a long story……”

Wang Yihe smiled and said, “That’s quite alright. We have time. Take your time.”

Tong Xuelu recounted her relationships with Tong Zhenzhen and the Tong family. She also told them about the incident when they ran into each other at the department store a while ago.

She then put on an embarrassed look. “I mainly said that because I was very upset. Tong Zhenzhen was tarnishing my reputation outside and I wished for the Su family to be on my side and not to have anything to do with Tong Zhenzhen.”

She could not let it show that she was a very smart girl at this moment in time. She just might not be able to step foot outside of this door. As such, she would need to present herself as a very petty girl.

The reason that she wanted Gu Yilan to severe ties with Tong Zhenzhen was because she was upset and nothing political.

Wang Yihe asked again, “Have you ever noticed anything odd about the Su family while you remained in contact with them?”

Tong Xuelu thought about it some and shook her head. “No, I work at a restaurant and have no days off unless I take the day off. I don’t have a lot of time to visit the Su’s. Whenever I get around to visiting, we just chitchat about random little things with the exception of my last visit when I had said something that I shouldn’t have out of my own selfishness and caused a fight between the couple.”

Wang Yihe, “What is your impression of Su Yueshen?”

Tong Xuelu said cautiously, “He’s a strong leader and a good father and son.”

Wang Yihe looked at her, “I think you missed one point. I’ve heard that Su Yueshen and his wife are very close. Do you think that Su Yueshen would show his wife top secret government document given his relationship with his wife?”

Tong Xuelu’s heart dropped. She finally figured out what had happened.

She calmed herself, “I have no idea, I don’t know a lot about the relationship between the two of them.”

Wang Yihe nodded and said nothing further.

Wu Zhou then asked, “Do you know a comrade by the name of Mu Zhuwei?”

Tong Xuelu shook her head, “No. I have never even heard of the name before.”

Wu Zhou and Wang Yihe exchanged a look.

Wu Zhou then said, “Thank you for your cooperation, Comrade Tong. I hope you won’t share anything that happened here today and, you cannot leave Capital City until this incident is resolved. We will need to be get ahold of you whenever we need.”

Tong Xuelu said seriously, “Yes, I promised I will work with the Ministry of Public Security on your investigation and would never breath a word about what happened today!”

Wu Zhou nodded in contention. “You may excuse yourself now.”

Tong Xuelu let out a big sigh of relief when she heard that.

Walking out of the Ministry of Public Security, Tong Xuelu finally realized that the back of her sweat was drenched in her own sweat.

It was very bad these days to have one’s name tie to spy activities. Even if she didn’t worry about herself, she would hate for her family or the Wen’s family to be dragged in.

From what she had heard, Gu Yilan had inadvertently saw some of Su Yueshen’s government documents and she had intentionally or unintentionally mentioned it to Mu Zhuwei.

Her guess was that Mu Zhuwei was the spy.

What she wasn’t sure was:

1. Did Mu Zhuwei pass on the information?

2. How was Mu Zhuwei caught and whether Tong Zhenzhen had anything to do with that?

She dared not look into any of those two. She knew that she might have been released, but for certain she was under a very watchful eye.

Tong Xuelu slowly walked back to the restaurant.
