When Lu Jue climbed into bed that night, he voluntarily scooted over to one side of the bed, leaving over half of it empty. His message was clear – he wanted to sleep in the same bed as Zhizhi.

Ning Zhi laid down in bed and Lu Jue scooted over to her.

Under the dim yellow light, Lu Jue’s lips curved upward slightly and his pitch-black eyes reflected the light. They were very, very bright.

Lu Jue flipped and faced Ning Zhi who had her eyes shut tightly.

He reached his hand out and touched Ning Zhi’s delicate eyes and brows with the tip of his finger. His finger glided downward slowly and he tapped her on the tip of her alabaster nose.

Finally, his fingertip landed on Ning Zhi’s little lips.

They were soft and red.

The tip of Lu Jue’s fingers were burning. He took his hand back and leaned into Ning Zhi. Mimicking what he had seen in the movie when the male lead kissed the female lead, Lu Jue, too, planted his thin lips over Ning Zhi’s.

They were fragrant, soft, and tasted very nice.

As though he had just discovered something new, Lu Jue eagerly kissed the corners of Ning Zhi’s lips repeatedly.

Ning Zhi dreamed about a little puppy holding her face with his two chubby little paws and grunting and wanting to lick her on her face. Its tail wagging happily.

Ning Zhi’s face was covered with the puppy’s saliva. She opened her eyes abruptly.

She saw in front of her a beautiful pair of cherry-blossom eyes that were blinking at her. The pair of cherry-blossom eyes looked panicked and nervous when they saw that her eyes were opened.

Ning Zhi’s lips were moist from the kissing. She realized that the puppy in her dream was actually Lu Jue.

The tips of Lu Jue’s ears could not be redder. He had no idea why his heart was pounding in his chest. Backing up docilely, he said, “Zhizhi.”

Lu Jue liked doing what he did but he had no idea whether Ning Zhi liked it or not. He worried that she would be upset at him.

The male nurse, sitting at the couch not far from them, struggled to stay awake.

Remembering that tomorrow would be her third day, she pulled the blanket over hers and Lu Jue’s head.

She rolled on top of Lu Jue and said, “That’s not how you kiss. Here, let me show you.”

Under the blanket, Lu Jue’s pitch-black eyes brightened up more and more and opened wider and wider.

He lifted his head and looked at Ning Zhi with desire.

“Zhizhi, Zhizhi……”

The male nurse heard his voice and woke himself up. He saw that Lu Jue’s head was under the blanket and he was moving around and utterly something under it.

Ning Zhi blushed. “Stop making noises!”

Ning Zhi was woken up by talking sound the next morning.

Mother and Father Lu were there.

They came every day to watch Lu Jue take his medications and chat with him.

They were stunned when he saw Lu Jue taking his medications in a cooperative manner instead of needing to be held down and force fed. They even learned from the nurse that Lu Jue had went over to the home theater the night before

Mother Lu held back her excitement and looked at her husband with hope in her eyes. “Xiao Jue also hasn’t had an episode in the last couple of days.”

It wasn’t obvious on Father Lu’s handsome face but there was happiness in his eyes as well. “You are right.”

Mother Lu couldn't help but reached out to touched Lu Jue’s uneven bangs but he jerked away from her. She was still smiling, however. “Do you think he is getting better?”

Father Lu nodded. “That is possible. I will have the doctor come over and check on him tomorrow.”

He turned toward the nurse and said to him, “Do let us know right away if you notice anything out of the ordinary.”

Ning Zhi walked over to Lu Jue after Father Mother Lu had left the room. “Good morning.”

Lu Jue looked over at her. “Zhizhi, medicines.”

He wanted to tell her that he had listened to her and took his medicines.

“Good boy.” Ning Zhi laned into him and kissed him on the red marks on his cheek.

Lu Jue’s eyes lit up.

“After you have recovered, you will be able to stop taking your medications.” Ning Zhi hoped that Lu Jue would get better and would no longer need to take his pills daily. It was, after all, not good for one’s body taking pills every day.

Lu Jue nodded.

Ning Zhi looked at the weather outside. It was a sunny morning with a gentle breeze. One that would make one feel cheerful.

“Let’s go for a walk?” She recalled the servants saying that Lu Jue had holed up in his room for a long time. They were short of locking him up with a chain during the worst of times.

In additional, he looked very sickly pale being inside for such a prolonged period of time. That long with the wounds in his face made him looked all the more pitiful.

She wanted to take him out for a walk so he could get some sun.
