The large room was very quiet. Only the sound of the clock could be heard.

Lu JingYan said simply, “It was a car accident.”

He tried his best not to bring back any memories or emotions but, unfortunately, every time he brought it up, the realistic scenes invaded his brain and played the frames in his head one by one as though he was watching a movie.

Chi Cheng curled his little body inside of the blanket with just his little head poking out from underneath. Weather like this scared him. His soft, child-like voice trembling a little as he said, “Grandma, why isn’t Mommy back yet?”

She reflexively reached out trying to smooth out the frown on Lu JingYan. Chi Ying had no idea why she did what she did… she merely felt that watching someone frowning like that pained her.
