As he was tied up by something, it was already past 10 PM when Jiang MingYuan arrived home.

A light in the living room was left on, probably left it on for him on purpose. There was a class of water on the coffee table in the living room. It was still lukewarm.

Jiang MingYuan removed his suit and downed the glass of water. He turned and walked inside of the elevator and went to take a shower in his bathroom upstairs.

When he came back down, he brought with him a few extra sets of change of clothes.

He briefly explained the situation to Cheng Huan and said to her, “He can take care of the meals going forward and free you up.”

Cheng Huan didn’t care for that idea much. “My life is not that busy. Besides, cooking is like studying. You use it or you lose it.”

Jiang MingYuan did not insist on it. “Then you can cook when you want and have the chef takes over when you are not in the mood for it.”

His tone was so infectious that Cheng Huan became excited as well.

The man had already moved onto the number of pets they would have in their home. Cheng Huan, leaning against his chest and listening to him felt sleepy again. She yawned, squeezed out a couple drops of tears and was just about to close her eyes and sleep some more when she suddenly remembered the question that she wanted to ask the man yesterday when she was interrupted.

She was wide awake all of a sudden and she sat up straight.

“What’s the matter?” Jiang MingYuan was baffled. “Do you not like pets?”

Cheng Huan shook her head. “No, that’s not it.”
